Whether you are a York resident, visiting for the day or a few days, Treasure Hunt Fun can offer you a treasure hunt around the streets and alleyways of York that is challenging, entertaining, educational, and above all a fun way for all the family to discover the history of York. You will visit some of the oldest buildings and houses in York, walk down Roman roads, discover the history of the Minster, visit two of the city’s medieval Bars (gates), take a walk on the walls, come across the grave of a notorious highwayman, find the birth place of an English traitor who's actions we celebrate every year, locate the finest medieval guildhall in Britain, find the most haunted pub in Britain, discover when York’s worse flooding took place, and hear a ghost story. And if that's not enough, along the way you will have to use your powers of observation to discover the answers to questions, many of which focus on unusual objects or places from York's past you may not see when casually walking round the city. Completing the treasure hunt is not a race but will generally take between 2 - 3 hours to complete (this does not allow for losing your way, shopping, or stopping for refreshments along the way). Family Treasure Hunts can be purchased from York's Tourist Information Office on St Leonard's Place (100 yards from the Minster) for only £3.99 Representing terrific 'value for money' for half a days entertainment for all the family Just ask at the desk for a copy of "Treasure Hunt Fun's" treasure hunt If you require any more information on the treasure hunt then contact
